School, Marijuana​ Business Tax Measures Pass In Marin County

MARIN COUNTY, CA – All four local measures in Marin County passed in the primary election Tuesday.

Fairfax and San Anselmo voters in the Ross Valley School District approved Measure E, an extension of the current $558 annual parcel tax for eight years after it expires in 2020.

The tax will automatically increase 3 percent a year, and the revenue will pay for classrooms and core programs. Measure E needed two-thirds approval to pass and received 75.5 percent approval.

Voters in Corte Madera passed Measure F, a three-quarter percent tax to raise $3.5 million annually for road maintenance and flood control.

The tax will replace a half-cent tax that expires in April 2020. Measure F needed majority approval and received 76.3 percent.

San Rafael voters passed Measure G, a tax up to 8 percent on the gross receipts of marijuana business that includes only testing labs, infused products, delivery and distribution. Measure G needed two-thirds approval and received 82.4 percent.

Voters in the Stinson Beach Water District easily passed Measure H, an increase in the annual appropriations limit to $2.1 million for fiscal year 2018-2019 and the following three fiscal years. Measure H needed majority approval and it received 86.9 percent.
