Runoffs Possible In Close Marin County Supervisor, DA Races

Marin County Deputy District Attorney Lori Frugoli and Anna Pletcher, a former federal attorney, appear headed for a runoff election.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County Deputy District Attorney Lori Frugoli and Anna Pletcher, a former federal attorney, appear headed for a runoff election in November to be the county's next district attorney, according to complete unofficial results from Tuesday's election.

If neither candidate wins at least 50 percent of the vote plus one vote, the top two candidates run again in the fall.

Frugoli has 48.47 percent of the vote, Pletcher has 30.16 percent, and Deputy District Attorney A.J. Brady trailed with 21.13 percent. They were vying to replace the retiring Ed Berberian.

The race between District 5 Supervisor Judy Arnold was also too close to call Tuesday night and could go to a November runoff. With all precincts in District 5 reporting, Toni Shroyer had 50.73 percent and Arnold had 48.97 percent. Arnold trails by 124 votes.

In the Corte Madera Town Council election, Eli Beckman and Bob Ravasio were leading for two of the three seats and Valeria Sasser and David Kunhardt were vying for the third available seat. With all five precincts reporting, Sasser had 539 votes and Kunhardt had 538.
