String Of Burglaries Reported In San Rafael
The burglaries have taken place during daytime hours, when residents are not home, police said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – San Rafael police are advising residents to take precautions as a string of burglaries have recently been reported in the Canal neighborhood of the city. Since Dec. 20, 2017, the San Rafael Police Department has received eight reports of residential burglaries in the area.
The burglaries have taken place during daytime hours, when residents are not home, San Rafael police Sgt. Lisa Holton said. The suspect or suspects typically enter homes through unsecured doors or windows, most often in search of money.
"Many cases involve the suspect going from house to house looking for unlocked doors or windows," Holton said. "Often the suspect will knock on the door of a residence to see if anyone is home. If someone answers they will ask for a person, pretending as if they have come to the wrong residence."
