SAN RAFAEL, CA – A teenager was arrested Monday after threatening a man with a replica gun in San Rafael, authorities said.
Police responded to the 200 block of Canal Street around 2:15 a.m. Monday after receiving a report about a male suspect brandishing a firearm, according to the San Rafael Police Department.
The victim told officers he discovered a teenage boy inside his car around 2:10 a.m., San Rafael Sgt. Lisa Holton said, with four other young male subjects standing next to the car. The victim confronted the suspect and told him to get out of his car. He then secured the car and began to walk away toward his apartment.

After hearing a noise, the victim turned to see the suspect pointing what appeared to be a black semi-automatic pistol at him, Holton said. The suspect threatened the victim before running away with the other young males. The responding officer found a magazine for a replica firearm at the scene.
After searching the area, police found a group of male subjects matching the suspect description on Novato Street, Holton said. They again ran away, but police found a 14-year-old suspect hiding in the nearby bushes. A replica firearm, which was missing its magazine, was also found nearby.
