Crews Contain Vegetation Fire In San Rafael
BREAKING: The roughly one-acre blaze broke out off Bellam Boulevard and Windward Way.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Firefighters have contained a vegetation fire that sparked Thursday afternoon in San Rafael. The blaze broke out off Bellam Boulevard and Windward Way, according to the San Rafael Fire Department.
The fire burned about one acre, fire officials said. Significant smoke is traveling southwest toward Interstate 580 and Highway 101.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials urged the public to call 911 to report suspicious activity or smoke.
