Vehicle Crashes Into Scaffolding On Richmond-San Rafael Bridge​

An oversized vehicle struck wooden maintenance scaffolding on eastbound I-580 at the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, according to Caltrans.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — An oversized vehicle struck wooden maintenance scaffolding on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 at the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Wednesday afternoon, a Caltrans spokesman said.

The crash was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. Caltrans spokesman Bart Ney said there was no damage to the bridge structure, but the crash prompted the closure of two lanes as of 2:30 p.m.

Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.
