What the Past Can Tell Us about the Future: California Archaeology and Climate Change
Learn how global warming may affect the Marin coastline and our archaeological heritage.

Michael Newland, Staff Archaeologist at Sonoma State and past President of the Society for California Archaeology, will look at how humans and the environment in California have responded to past climate shifts, and what these responses imply for California and beyond as the impacts of climate change accelerate through the 21st century. The speaker will highlight recent archaeological research from Point Reyes National Seashore and elsewhere in the Bay Area.
