Winds Topple Big-Rig On San Rafael-Richmond Bridge

The driver escaped uninjured, the CHP said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – High winds blew over a big-rig towing a trailer Wednesday evening, blocking lanes on the the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Crews responded just after 8 p.m. to the truck on its side in the eastbound Interstate-580 lanes, officials said. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was not injured.

Two lanes were blocked and traffic was detoured to the shoulder as heavy-duty tow truck workers righted the truck and trailer, the CHP said.
