Armed Robbery In San Ramon Led To Stoneridge Mall Chase: Police

San Ramon residents were robbed as they pulled into their garage Thursday morning, police said.

SAN RAMON, CA — Two people arrested Thursday afternoon after a brief chase through Macy's at Stoneridge Shopping Center were detained after an armed robbery in San Ramon, police said.

The robbery was reported just after 11 a.m. Thursday on Baker Way, San Ramon Police Capt. Denton Carlson said in an email. There were no injuries.

The victims were pulling into their garage when they were approached by two people reportedly armed with a gun, Carlson said. The victims lost jewelry, cell phones, a purse and a wallet.

Soon after, one of the suspects was seen in a car by officials with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office and Dublin Police Services. Officials arrested the person in Macy's after a brief police chase.

The city of Pleasanton notified residents around noon that a significant police presence was at Stoneridge Shopping Center, but there was no threat to public safety.

Items from the San Ramon robbery were found in the car at Stoneridge, Carlson said.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that the person arrested was also believed to be linked to a robbery in San Leandro.

Local authorities did not provide the names of the people arrested and were unable to confirm whether or not they were booked into jail.
