SAN RAMON, CA — Three teenagers trespassed onto the California High School campus and physically attacked another student Monday afternoon, the San Ramon Police Department and the San Ramon Valley Unified School District confirmed to Patch.

The three juvenile suspects entered the campus Monday afternoon and attacked another student at the end of a class, allegedly with the help of Cal High students, according to a statement from the school district.

“We are extremely dismayed that some of our own students allegedly helped the perpetrators enter the Cal High campus without permission,” the district said in a statement, adding that it is “exploring all disciplinary options for the students involved in this incident.”

“Members of our organization will be working with the Alameda County Probation Department and the Juvenile Division of the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office to pursue the filing of criminal charges against those responsible,” SRPD spokesperson Acting Captain Tami Williams told Patch in an email.

The district did not mention whether any of the suspects ever attended Cal High or a SRVUSD school, though Superintendent Dr. John Malloy told NBC News that the students attend a different school.

The student who was attacked and their family are receiving support from school staff, the district said.

The district called the security breach “unacceptable” and said it has their “full attention.”

“This is very concerning, and again, what we will do is to ensure that we work with our community to strengthen existing protocols so that something like this doesn’t happen again,” Malloy told NBC News.

The SRPD continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 925-973-2779.
