Children Battling Serious Illnesses Benefit From San Ramon Teen’s Greeting Cards
The ambitious artist hopes his talent will help him raise $10,000 to donate to kids in need.
SAN RAMON, CA — A compassionate and creative San Ramon teenager is putting his artistic skills to good use with the goal of helping young patients and families at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto. Sumukh Cadpakar, 13, a freshman at Dougherty Valley High School, created a nonprofit greeting card company aptly named KidtoKid, which benefits children fighting for their lives.
Known across the country, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital provides treatment to patients, regardless of whether or not they can pay. Sumukh’s greeting cards, which can be found online or purchased directly from Sumukh at the San Ramon Farmers’ Market every Saturday, features his whimsical artwork for most occasions. His goal is to raise $10,000 through the card sales to donate to the hospital.
Sumukh plays the saxophone and loves musical theater. In June, Sumukh was interviewed while out at the farmers' market. Listen to what he has to say about his greeting cards and why the cause is important to him.
