Quake Strikes In San Ramon As Swarm Continues

San Ramon was hit with another earthquake early Tuesday morning, the latest of hundreds since November.

SAN RAMON, CA — A 2.6-magnitude earthquake hit San Ramon at 4:18 a.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake was centered just west of Alcosta Boulevard and north of Montevideo Drive, and recorded a 7.7-km depth.

Residents around the Tri-Valley reported feeling it very lightly or not at all, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.

The quake comes after two earthquakes of 2.5 and 2.7 struck San Ramon last Thursday morning and afternoon. From the morning of Monday, Feb. 2 to the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 3, over 30 quakes struck the city, the largest of which was 4.2

San Ramon has been rocked by more than 300 earthquakes between November and February, making international news. In December, the city detailed its earthquake readiness policies in response to the near-constant barrage.
