Threat Discovered At Dougherty Valley High Under Investigation

Police will be stepping up their presence on campus. School officials said a student made the discovery.

SAN RAMON, CA — A “threatening graffiti message” found at a San Ramon high school is under investigation, police officials said. The threat was found at Dougherty Valley High School Thursday morning. Police and school officials say they are investigating but have not confirmed the nature of the threat or where it was found.

“While we don't have any additional evidence to suggest the threat is credible; we take it seriously and will have an increased police presence on campus,” San Ramon police said via social media.

The school district issued a statement about the incident:

"This morning, a Dougherty Valley High School student did the right thing and reported threatening graffiti to school administration. The school began an investigation, in conjunction with San Ramon Police and District Administration. We are taking great precautions to ensure the safety of our students. This includes an increased police presence at our campus tonight and tomorrow to help our students and staff feel safe. We have shared information with our school community today, as is our practice, to keep people informed. We are grateful to the San Ramon Police for the support they are providing."

On Wednesday morning, threatening graffiti was found in the bathroom of Foothill High School in Pleasanton. Police and school officials later deemed the threat “not credible.”
