Hart District Names New Assistant Principal (hometownstation.com) — Families connected to Hart High School will see a new face in leadership, as the Hart District board has appointed longtime local educator Lindsey Krutak as assistant principal. Krutak, a former Bowman High School English teacher and department chair, officially started the role on Sept. 10. District leaders praise her student-centered approach and commitment to achievement.
   

2. Canyon Country Man Arrested For Alleged Rape (hometownstation.com) — Deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Maldonado Place in Canyon Country Sunday and arrested a 62-year-old local man on suspicion of rape by force. The case is being sent to San Fernando Court for review, and no trial date has been set yet. Authorities have released limited details while the investigation continues.
   

3. Newhall Filmmakers Rally Around Short Film 'Holding Court' (scvnews.com) — Newhall filmmakers Ralston and Alicia Vaz are rallying Santa Clarita neighbors around their short film "Holding Court," already shooting a concept trailer with nearly 20 local community members. They're now crowdfunding $30,000 on Seed&Spark, with a matching donor helping push the project toward production, festival submissions, and a wider audience for this character-driven story about grief, empathy, and really listening to others.
   

4. College president delivers Congressional testimony (newsitem.com) — Santa Clarita quietly hosted a high-level U.S. House defense appropriations field hearing at College of the Canyons' Performing Arts Center, spotlighting workforce development for skilled trades. Pennsylvania College of Technology president Michael J. Reed joined defense and industry representatives to discuss strengthening the defense industrial base, training needed workers, and securing critical resources—all from a stage in your local community college.
   

5. The Bongino Report AM With Dan Bongino To Launch Nationwide Next Monday (hometownstation.com) — Santa Clarita's KHTS radio is adding "The Bongino Report AM," a nationally syndicated political talk show hosted by Dan Bongino, to its weekday lineup starting Monday, Sept. 21. The one-hour program will air early mornings and focus on national politics, current events, and public policy. Local listeners will now hear Bongino content twice daily on KHTS.
