Future of Parades on Santa Barbara's State Street Uncertain Under Master Plan (noozhawk.com) — Santa Barbara's police chief is warning that the city's evolving State Street Master Plan may limit which parades can safely return to the downtown corridor, even as this year's Holiday Parade goes forward there. Safety concerns, especially for horse units like Fiesta's, and mixed feedback from State Street businesses about parade-day impacts are shaping how future celebrations might be routed and permitted.

City of Santa Barbara in talks to buy Latino community center La Casa de la Raza - Santa Barbara News-Press (newspress.com) — Santa Barbara officials are exploring a state-funded purchase of La Casa de la Raza, aiming to preserve the longtime Latino community hub while partnering with another operator to run it. Extreme heat reaches triple digits in Santa Barbara Wednesday - Santa Barbara News-Press (newspress.com) — Santa Barbara is under an extreme heat warning, with downtown temperatures hitting 102 degrees and nearby hills reaching 105, prompting officials to urge residents to seek cooler spaces.
