4. Report: County's Sidewalk Vending Pilot Program makes 'huge difference' in unsafe food sales (santamariatimes.com) — Santa Barbara County's crackdown on unpermitted sidewalk food vending has sharply reduced unsafe sales in unincorporated areas, with hundreds of pounds of contaminated food discarded and equipment impounded. County leaders also heard that Santa Barbara County ranked among California's top jurisdictions for new housing activity in 2025, including hundreds of affordable units, as officials work to streamline approvals and meet state housing mandates.

Twin Lakes Golf Course to Host Second Annual Santa Barbara Par 3 Championship (independent.com) — Golfers in and around Santa Barbara can sign up now for the Second Annual Santa Barbara Par 3 Championship at Twin Lakes Golf Course on November 14. Open to ages 13 and up, the nine-hole event emphasizes short-game skills, offers prizes for top finishers and closest-to-the-pin, and includes lunch with the $65 registration fee.
