How To Register To Vote Same-Day In California
For the first time, same-day voter registration will be available on Election Day across California. Here's how to take advantage.
CALIFORNIA — Missed Tuesday's deadline to register to vote in California's March 3 presidential primary? Don't sweat it — same-day registration will be available on Election Day at polling places across the state.
This year's election will be the first to offer same-day registration in California, thanks to a law passed in October expanding the option to all polling places.
"This [is] yet another step California is taking to lead the nation in expanding voting rights and access to the ballot," Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement.

Voters can even take advantage of same-day registration before Election Day, by visiting an early voting location or a county elections office.
To register, voters will be asked to fill out a form and will then be given a ballot. Their ballots won't be counted until their local county elections office has verified their registration.
