Bacteria Warning Issued For Santa Monica
The Los Angeles County Department of Health cautions residents before swimming or surfing along the coast.

SANTA MONICA, CA - Once again, beachgoers on Monday were advised to avoid swimming at a number of Los Angeles County beaches, including near the Pier in Santa Monica.
The Los Angeles County Health Department collects samples weekly from various sites year-round to test and monitor bacteria levels. On Monday, the division found the ocean water at the Santa Monica Pier exceeded state standards for bacterial levels.
The warning was a result of increased bacteria levels in the water after county testing. Unsafe bacteria levels means residents should avoid swimming, surfing and playing in the water.
