Bruce Springsteen Signs Exclusive Deal With Santa Monica Publishing Company

It's the first time a single publisher will represent Springsteen's entire catalogue worldwide.

SANTA MONICA, CA – Bruce Springsteen signed with Universal Music Publishing Group to exclusively administer his entire catalog of songs and future projects, it was announced today.

According to Springsteen's manager Jon Landau, this will be the first time a single publisher will represent his entire catalogue worldwide.

"After 40 productive years of working with the leading independents, it is now time for us to centralize Bruce's publishing," Landau said. "UMPG combines putting the artist first with creating, leading and managing the incredible changes occurring in the world of publishing. At this point in Bruce's legendary songwriting career, they are an ideal fit."

The Publishing Group will be in charge of developing creative and commercial opportunities for Springsteen's catalogue – including the 1973 release of "Greetings from Ashbury Park, N.J.," 17 other studio albums that won 20 Grammys and "Streets of Philadelphia" which won a 1994 Oscar for Best Original Song.

Springsteen's work has been covered by other artists including David Bowie, Natalie Cole, Joan Jett, Rage Against the Machine, and Neil Young.

We are thrilled to put the entire global resources of our company into expanding the popularity of his music and creating exciting new fan experiences."

Springsteen was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Former President Barack Obama awarded him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom last November for his role in shaping American music.
