Massive Black Out Cuts Power For Almost 9,000 In Santa Monica
A massive power outage in Santa Monica affected 8,849 customers Tuesday morning and was restored as of 10:04 a.m.
SANTA MONICA, CA — A massive power outage in Santa Monica affected 8,849 customers Tuesday morning, according to Southern California Edison.
The outage started at 9:58 a.m. on Tuesday and was restored at of 10:04 a.m. according to SCE spokesperson Gabriela Ornelas. Ornelas said crews are still unsure of what the cause for the loss of power could be, but it could have been that some animals may have entered the facility.
The outage was reported in the area of the Santa Monica Freeway and 12th Street. Though the live outage map on SCE's website shows the outage as ongoing, Ornelas said all customers got their power back quickly.

"The outage luckily didn't affect customers for a long time," Ornelas said.
