MYABETIC LAUNCHES ATHLETIC ARMBAND FOR DEXCOM RECEIVERS
Pre-Order Now for Shipments Beginning July 15th
Myabetic continues to transform the image of diabetes for men, women and children with fashionable cases that store diabetes testing tools. Today, they announce the addition of the Dexcom Armband to the collection, made specifically for the Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring Receivers.
The adjustable athletic Dexcom Armband allows a person to manage blood sugar levels while exercising. It features front zipper pocket custom designed specifically for the Dexcom G4 and G5 receiver and includes a clear plastic window for screen visibility and cutouts for easy access to buttons. The back pocket holds an iPhone, iPod or MP3 player and also features a slit for ID and/or credit cards. The exterior plastic loop provides a place to store glucose tabs or gel and the small compartment in the front was made to fit a key.
“Too often people with diabetes will ignore their blood sugar numbers while exercising because they don’t have a place to put the receiver,” explains Myabetic founder Kyrra Richards. “This armband makes it easy and you don’t have to stop in the middle of a workout.”

Why Dexcom? It’s Richards’ favorite tool for managing her own diabetes. A professional dance instructor, judge and former model, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 24 years old. Richards uses Dexcom to continuously monitor her blood sugar and to ‘share’ her glucose levels. If her levels dip below or rise above a certain threshold, the alarm will alert her through a smartphone app as well as her husband and family members who are in her ‘share’ community.
“I absolutely grateful for Dexcom’s ‘share’ feature,” explains Richards. “Last month I was in Houston for business and received several phone calls from my husband in the middle of the night. Finally waking me from a deep sleep, he alerted me that my blood sugar was dangerously low! I had completely slept through my own alarm but thanks to him having the app on his phone, he saved my life.”

Richards launched the Myabetic brand in 2012 as a solution to the embarrassment that is often associated with diabetes…carrying supplies. Her first design for a Dexcom device was the Flip Sleeve, a multi-functional compact sleeve that protects and shields from scratches while also providing extra privacy.
Myabetic recently designed a case that is currently sold in Target stores nationwide. Available in Purple Nylon or Black Ballistic Nylon the case retails for $29.99.
Myabetic is committed to designing products with a fashionable, non-medical aesthetic so people with diabetes can control their health with style, not shame. Cases retail between $14.95 -$89.95 and are available at www.myabetic.com.
