Ocean Use Warning For Santa Monica Area Lifted
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has cleared the waters near Santa Monica Pier for usage following high bacteria levels.
SANTA MONICA, CA — It's safe to go back in the water near the pier.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has cleared the waters around Santa Monica Pier, as well as a handful of other coastal areas, for usage following tests that had shown high bacteria levels.
As of March 18, warnings have been lifted for the following beach areas where recent sample results identified water quality levels within California standards:

- Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro
- Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
- Marie Canyon Storm Drain at Puerco Beach
- Santa Monica Canyon Creek at Will Rogers State Beach, near Will Rogers Tower 18
- Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach
However, elevated bacteria levels are still being recorded at the Wilshire Boulevard storm drain at Santa Monica Beach, specifically at Santa Monica North Tower 12, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain.
