Pedestrian Killed In Crash With Motorcyclist In Santa Monica ID'd

A 21-year-old woman died after a motorcyclist collided with a pedestrian in Santa Monica this week.

SANTA MONICA, CA — One person was killed early Tuesday morning in a collision with a motorcyclist in Santa Monica, authorities said.

Armando Hernandez, 21, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner's office reported. His city of residence was not known.

Officials responded to a call at 3:30 a.m. to the Cloverfield Boulevard on-ramp to the eastbound freeway, the California Highway Patrol said. A motorcyclist collided with a pedestrian walking on the freeway, the CHP said.

The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene, and the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, authorities said. The motorcyclist's condition was not disclosed.

The collision closed all lanes of the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway for more than an hour.
