Polar Bear Swim Returns To Santa Monica
Take a dip in the ocean and then head to the Annenberg Community Beach House to warm up with s'mores, warm beverages, games and more.

SANTA MONICA, CA – The Polar Bear Swim will be returning to Santa Monica for its second year. Make it a quick dip or take a deeper dive into the Pacific Ocean for the 300-yard buoy swim before warming up in the heated Annenberg Community Beach House pool.
Creativity and costumes are encouraged, the City of Santa Monica press release said.
"Our hope is your friends and family make this one of your New Year traditions while enjoying poolside activities and celebrating with s'mores, warm beverages, games and photos with Pat, Santa Monica’s very own polar bear mascot," the city said.

Registration includes pool admission for participants that want to soak or swim in the warm pool, take a hot shower and eat provided snacks. All ages are encouraged to attend.
Pool admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors 60+ and $4 for children ages 1-17.

Regular pool rules apply while swimming at this event. Children younger than eight years old must be accompanied by an adult while in the pool. In-person registration will be available, but may be limited on the day of event.
The event is Saturday, Dec. 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Annenberg Community Beach House located at 415 Pacific Coast Hwy, Santa Monica, CA 90402.
Polar Bear Swim Schedule:
- 9 a.m. – Pool open to guests, participants head to tower 4 swim area
- 9:30 a.m. – Polar Bear swim begins with kids
- 9:40 a.m. – Adults take the plunge
- 9:50 a.m. – 300-yard buoy swim starts
- 10 a.m. – Build your own snowman with Pat the polar bear
- 10:30 a.m. – Hot cocoa and s’mores station opens
- 11 a.m. – Photos with Pat the polar bear and penguin bowling
- 1 a.m. – Event ends
