Santa Monica City Employee Stabbed At Palisades Park
According to SMPD, the employee was stabbed in the upper torso after they attempted to wake a person who was sleeping at the park.

SANTA MONICA, CA — A City of Santa Monica employee was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening stab wound Wednesday after police said they tried to wake a person sleeping in Palisades Park.
Officers said they received a report from a Downtown Ambassador on March 15 at 8:15 a.m. about a person who had been stabbed near the Camera Obscura. When officers arrived they found a city employee who said they had been trying to wake a person sleeping in the area when they were stabbed in the upper torso.
Paramedics transported the city employee to a local hospital to treat the non-fatal stab wound.

According to a statement from Santa Monica Police Department, the suspect fled the area before officers arrived. However, officers announced Thursday that they identified and arrested 41-year-old Allen Cranford Barna in connection with the incident.
