Tongva Park is the New Attraction of Santa Monica

Tongva Park is located between Ocean Avenue and Main Street. It is a 6-acre site across from the Santa Monica City Hall. Construction on this scenic park began in the spring of 2012 and was completed in September of 2013. The Park is divided into four sections for locals and tourist to explore and enjoy a huge addition to the city of Santa Monica.

The Sections of Tongva Park

Garden Hill is covered with the native plants of Santa Monica that change with the seasons. Another section is Discovery Hill. This particular section is geared towards children where there is a playground and mini rock climbing wall. A music wall is also provided for playtime and there are forts set in the landscape. Observation Hill, on the other hand, offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the Santa Monica Pier, and the landscape of Tongva Park. Lastly, Gathering Hill offers relaxation space for picnicking and just get-togethers with very artistic sculptures.

Where Did it Come From?

This huge jewel was built at of cost of $42.3 million on top of what used to be a giant parking lot. The people who built New York's Highline, James Cornerfield Operations, built this amazing park to add more swagger to Santa Monica. Basically, they turned a once boring parking lot into an amazing place for the family, kids, or just anyone to enjoy. Tongva Park will have plenty of visitors once the Metro Line to Santa Monica is completed.

Amazingly Beautiful

The architecture and the design of the whole park has been judged by the locals and visitors as beautiful. Tongva Park is also an awesome place for a relaxing stroll or just to spent some leisure time with the family.

Santa Monica Park rangers are very active in Tongva park to ensure that vagrants and any form of anti-social behavior is kept away. Condos and apartments being built next to the park have been snapped up and for good reason. Tongva Park is a place that brings relaxation to Santa Monica which sits in the middle of very crowded, happening places like Third Street Promenade, Ocean Avenue, and the Santa Monica Pier.
