Body Found In East County

SPRING VALLEY, CA — A body was found Sunday by hikers off a roadway in Spring Valley

There was unspecified trauma to the body, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, which is investigating the incident as a homicide.

The body was found around 7 a.m. in the 3500 block of Miller Ranch Road, the SDSD reported.

The sheriff's homicide unit and medical examiner responded to the scene. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.

The man's name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
