With the city council already granting her a leave of absence, an acting city manager has stepped in as officials weigh how to keep city operations and services stable.
   

• Sausalito City Manager Elaine Forbes Faces Misdemeanor Charges Over Boat Trespassing (kqed.org) — Sausalito’s city manager is facing multiple misdemeanor charges tied to an incident at the Sausalito Yacht Harbor and is currently on leave while an acting manager runs day-to-day city operations. Prosecutors and her attorney are working through arraignment and bail decisions, while city officials plan a special council meeting to determine next steps for city leadership.
   

• Can This Group Get Organic Food to 6 Million California Kids? (civileats.com subscription) — A Sausalito-based nonprofit, Conscious Kitchen, is working to transform school meals by connecting local organic farms with districts across California, including teaching students at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy in town. After earning a major international environmental prize nomination and $150,000 award, the group is scaling purchasing co-ops, scratch-cooking training, and farm-to-school workshops to reach 6 million kids statewide.
