College Student Stabs Fathers In Sherman Oaks: Police

A college student home to visit his parents in Sherman Oaks allegedly stabbed his fathers repeatedly, according to police.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A college student home for the summer to visit his adoptive family in Sherman Oaks allegedly stabbed his father in the neck repeatedly during an argument Tuesday morning.

Police arrested 21-year-old Matthew Boulet on suspicion stabbing his father and attacking another man at a home on the 600 block of Burnet Avenue. The Boulet's mother called police at about 1 a.m., and police arrived to find the suspect's father in a bedroom with several stab wounds to the neck, according to Officer Norma Eisenman with the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

Boulet was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held on $4 million bail.

"He was very nonchalant when he said he had stabbed his two fathers and that he suffered a wound while doing so," LAPD Lt. Mike Kozak said. "He was very calm about it."

According to CBS2, the injured men -- identified by neighbors as Tom Boulet and Ken Coll -- were found by officers with multiple stab wounds and were hospitalized in critical condition.

The victims were rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

“Whenever something in the home gets so far out of hand where violence is the option, there’s a lot to be concerned about,” LAPD Lt. Mike Kozak told the Los Angeles Times. “He did discuss the incident with us and he let us know he was involved with the incident and so there’s no outstanding suspect,” Kozak said of the suspect.

The college student was taken into custody at the scene.
