SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A Sherman Oaks home undergoing construction was badly damaged in an early morning fire Monday morning.

No one was hurt in the blaze, which was reported just before 6 a.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. The fire broke out in the 5400 block of North Nagle Avenue, and firefighters arrived to find the structure engulfed in flames.

The floors and ceilings collapsed, hampering firefighters' efforts to extinguish the fire.
