Valley Presbyterian Hospital Offers Free Parents to Be Workshops for the Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys Community in October

Valley Presbyterian Hospital is pleased to announce our VPH Cares Programs for October. We are excited to offer this community development program consisting of free public health education workshops.

We offer a full series of workshops to help mothers and fathers prepare for the happy and safe delivery of a baby. Most seminars can be taken individually, or as a series.

All programs will be held at the hospital in the Health Education Center located at 15107 Vanowen St. Van Nuys, California. Parking is located at our Noble parking structure, at the corner of Vanowen St. and Noble Ave., and our campus parking structure, on Vanowen St. past Sepulveda Blvd.

Valley Presbyterian Hospital is offering the following free health classes in October:

Saturdays October 4 and 11, 10am - 2pm or Wednesdays October 8, 15, 22, 29 - 7pm - 9:30pm

Childbirth Preparation Series Learn the latest in labor and delivery comfort measures and other important topics. This course is offered as either a four-class series (weeknights) or a two class series (weekends). Classes must be taken in sequence. Registration is required. This class is recommended before the seventh month of pregnancy.

Tuesdays October 7, 14, 21, 28 - 7pm - 9:30pm

Childbirth Preparation Series (Spanish) Learn the latest in labor and delivery comfort measures and other important topics. This course is offered as either a four-class series (weeknights) or a two class series (weekends). Classes must be taken in sequence. Registration is required. This class is recommended before the seventh month of pregnancy.

Thursday October 9, 7pm - 9pm

Parents to Be Hospital Tour Learn about the before-birth programs and services that are available to you and visit the labor and delivery unit.

Friday October 10, 11am - 1pm

Baby Shower & Hospital Tour Meet the maternity staff, learn about hospital resources, and take a hospital tour during a fun, informational celebration. Baby Showers and Tours are conducted in English and Spanish.

Friday October 10, 1pm - 2pm

Breastfeeding Preparation Class (Spanish) Learn basic breastfeeding techniques and where to get help if needed.

Thursday October 16, 7pm - 9pm

Parents to Be Hospital Tour (Spanish) Learn about the before-birth programs and services that are available to you and visit the labor and delivery unit.
