dive into an 8 week class yet? Our Wine and Wheel nights offer the best 
environment to dabble in this new endeavor, while enjoying some local 
wine and cheese while you’re at it. Sign up yourself and a partner, 
friend, sibling… to experience it together! Wine and Wheel students are 
able to keep one creation of their choosing from the evening to have it

Jack London State Historic Park

<a href="https://jacklondonpark.com/events/call-of-the-wild-festival-2026/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">The Call of the Wild Festival</a>, a fun-filled community celebration presented by Jack London Park Partners, returns to Jack London State Historic Park on Sunday, May 17, 2026. This lively event invites local families, visitors, and community partners to enjoy a memorable day of live music, delicious food, guided hikes and tours, children’s art activities, craft demonstrations, and tractor-pulled hayrides. 
This is the fifth annual Call of the Wild community event at the park.It’s also part of a yearlong celebration of Jack London’s 150th birthday (born January 12, 1876).Complimentary birthday treats
will be served at the Birthday Booth at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Park admission (normally $10 per vehicle for up to nine passengers) will be free that day. 
A free Family and Friends Hike, (normally $10 per person) will be offered at 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 
The guided hike will pass through the canopy of redwoods and mixed evergreens on the way to London Lake, with an option to continue to the majestic Ancient Redwood, estimated to be between 1,800-2,000 years old. This is a moderate hike of approximately 3.5 miles round trip with some elevation gain. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, and snacks, and dress in layers. Dogs are not allowed on backcountry trails.

Spars is an educator, author, and accomplished storyteller who weaves together ancient history and narrative, with four published books, a TEDx talk, and performances at renowned storytelling festivals, including the National Storytelling Festival.

The first half of the workshop (held inside the House of Happy Walls Museum) will cover settings, filters, exposure, focus, shutter speeds, panoramas, macro, close ups, and portraits, with an emphasis on the creative and artistic side of photography. The group will then move outdoors to put into practical use the things we have just talked about. Bring your lunch for a quick picnic. 
Participants will leave with some potential great images, confidence, and expanded knowledge in using the iPhone camera to capture images that are real “keepers.”

As part of <a href="https://castateparksweek.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">California State Parks Week</a>, <a href="https://castateparksweek.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://castateparksweek.org/</a>, take an educational evening hike (~3 miles roundtrip) with stops along the way to learn about the four-legged residents that call the park home. You will get an inside look at how researchers track mountain lions, study their behavior, and gather data using trail cameras, GPS collars, and DNA samples.
The information collected through the Living with Lions project, led by All Hands Ecology, <a href="https://www.allhandsecology.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.allhandsecology.org/</a>, in partnership with True Wild Conservation, <a href="https://www.truewild.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.truewild.org/</a>, is shared with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, scientific journals, local media, and presented through engaging community presentations.
This program offers a rare chance to understand the vital role mountain lions play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem, the science behind the trail camera project, and how our local community can help protect these incredible animals. Do not miss this opportunity to get up close with the research and meet the people making it possible.
Guide Kate Remsen has been working with All Hands Ecology’s Living with Lions project as the Trail Camera Project Manager for 5 years. Her job includes community outreach, engagement, and mountain lion research by placing and servicing trail cameras on private properties in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Spend a day immersed in plein air watercolor landscape painting while taking in the sweeping vistas of <a href="https://jacklondonpark.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Jack London State Historic Park</a>. Participants will explore both watercolor technique and the core principles of landscape painting, including composition, color temperature, and atmospheric perspective. Learn to create movement and depth in your painting, and gain a new appreciation for the beauty of your surroundings through the process of close observation and careful rendering.
We’ll start the class with quick thumbnail sketches, then select one composition to focus on throughout the day. Through demonstration and individual instruction, you’ll learn color mixing and watercolor technique while building your painting step by step.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy while taking a break, and a lightweight folding chair if you have one. Otherwise seating is at picnic tables and park benches or on the ground. All other materials are provided.
After the workshop, you’re invited to continue exploring the park—take a hike, visit the museum, or stroll to the evocative ruins of the Wolf House.
All levels of experience are welcome!

The Cline Country Bluegrass Festival is back for its third year! Come relax, unwind, and re-Cline with talented bluegrass bands from across California—and beyond. Sip, savor, and enjoy a day of lively tunes and Summer vibes at Cline Family Cellars.
All attendees over the age of 12 must purchase a General Admission ticket. Free tickets for children 12 and under are available as add-ons to general admission ticket reservations. Ticket gets you entry to the festival here at Cline Family Cellars. Alcohol, food, and merchandise not included in ticket cost. Tickets will be required for entry, so please purchase in advance.
