Have you always wanted to paint landscapes but don’t know where to
start? Or are you curious about acrylics but haven’t taken the plunge
yet? In this class, you’ll learn a simple technique to create small,
abstract landscapes on 5” square wooden tiles using a limited palette of
colors.
You’ll be guided through the basics of acrylic paints
and mediums, including surface preparation, color blending with a flat
bristle brush, and using different tools to add texture and detail. By
the end of the class, you’ll apply a final coat of medium to seal and
protect your artwork, leaving you with 2-3 completed pieces to take
home, along with a little easel to display your favorite one.
This
class is perfect for beginners, though some prior painting experience
is helpful. The process you’ll learn can easily be applied to larger
paintings or even collage projects.
All materials are provided. Feel free to bring snacks or a bag lunch to eat while you work.
