SANTA ROSA, CA -- A person was hospitalized after a vehicle drove into a building Wednesday evening in Santa Rosa, according to police. Around 7 p.m., Santa Rosa police said on social media that a vehicle went into a building. The car went into a nail salon located on Yulupa Avenue.
One person was taken to a hospital with a moderate head laceration and is expected to recover. No one else was hurt, police said.
It was not immediately clear if it was the driver who was injured or someone inside the salon.

Personnel with the Santa Rosa Fire Department responded to remove the car from inside the business.
Police determined the crash was accidental. The driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake while reaching for something in the back seat of the vehicle, police said.

"The driver and people inside the building were very lucky no one was seriously injured or worse," Santa Rosa police said on Facebook, reminding drivers to put their vehicle in park when reaching for items in their car.
