A Meditation Retreat with Kunga Dawa (Richard Arthure) at the Sonoma Shambhala Meditation Center

Friday, November 2nd, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3rd, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

In this meditation workshop we will look into the true nature of mind, with particular reference to instructions given by Guru Padmasambhava to an old man who had requested a teaching that is "simple to understand, can thoroughly cut through doubt and is easy to realize and apply." This program will include group practice, talks, discussion and individual instruction.

Kunga Dawa (Richard Arthure) was the first Westerner trained by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche as a meditation instructor and has taught Buddhism for many years. He also received several empowerments and direct teachings from the Sixteenth Karmapa at Rumtek in Sikkim. In 2003, he completed the traditional three-year retreat. Kunga Dawa is the author of a book of poems, Bone Ornaments and Mirrors, and a forthcoming book, Confusion into Wisdom.
