Missing 11-Year-Old Girl Is With Mother: Santa Rosa PD

UPDATED: SRPD is asking the public to be on the lookout for Jada Falls Scott and her mom, Vianna Scott, who does not have legal custody.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Rosa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an 11-year-old girl who was reported missing Thursday afternoon, Feb. 14. Jada Falls Scott went missing from the area of Binkley Elementary School on Canyon Drive and is believed to be with her mother, who does not have legal custody, police said in a news release.

Jada — pictured above on the left — is black, 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 125 pounds, according to police. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket, a white shirt and white-and-black striped pants.

Police described her mother, Vianna Scott — pictured above on the right — as a 4-foot-8-inch, 38-year-old black woman who has black hair and weighs about 180 pounds.

"It is unknown what [Vianna] was last wearing, and [she] is not believed to be in possession of a car," said Santa Rosa police Sgt. Dan Marincik.

A family member called Santa Rosa police at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday from the school at 4965 Canyon Drive and said when they went to pick Jada up from school she was not there, Marincik said.

Officers immediately checked numerous locations but were not able to locate the girl.

Investigators are now confident the 11-year-old was picked up from school by her mother, Marincik said late Thursday in an updated news release.

The family member who called police initially believed that might have been the case and investigators were later able to confirm it, the sergeant said.

"After following up on numerous investigative leads from concerned members of the public, officers confirmed that Jada’s mother had picked Jada up after school," Marincik said. "Jada had voluntarily left with her mother, and they had gone to an undisclosed location. When officers arrived at the location, Jada and her mother were no longer there. Officers followed up on other investigative leads but were unable to locate Jada or her mother."

Investigators do not believe Jada is in "any imminent danger at this time," Marincik said.

However, because Vianna does not have legal custody of her daughter, Jada is not supposed to be with her.

Anyone who sees Jada and/or Vianna or knows their whereabouts is asked to call the Santa Rosa Police Department at 707-528-5222.

"As of now, we don’t have any reason to believe they are outside of the Sonoma County area," Marincik told Patch Friday morning.
