Man, Dog Found Dead in Crashed Truck Near Geyserville

The white older model GMC truck rolled over two or three times and struck a tree sometime overnight, according to the CHP.

A man found dead this morning in a GMC truck parked in a driveway west of Geyserville has been identified as Eugene Buchignani, 70, of Healdsburg, according to the Sonoma County coroner’s office.

The incident was reported at about 8:30 a.m. and the truck was found in the driveway at 7605 W. Dry Creek Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Sloat said.

The white, older-model truck rolled over two of three times and hit a tree sometime overnight, Sloat said. Buchignani was not in a seatbelt and suffered severe head injuries, Sloat said.

A dog also died in the crash, according to the CHP. The dog appears to have died from suffocation when Buchignani fell on top of it, Sloat said.

A man and a dog were found dead this morning inside a GMC pickup truck on a private driveway off West Dry Creek Road west of Geyserville, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The white older model GMC truck rolled over two or three times and struck a tree sometime overnight, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said.

The driver, who was not in seat restraints, suffered traumatic head injuries, and the Labrador apparently suffocated when the driver fell on top of it, Sloat said.

The truck was found up the driveway at 7605 W. Dry Creek Road at Yoakim Bridge Road.

The Sonoma County coroner’s office responded and removed the driver from the vehicle, Sloat said.

The incident was reported around 8:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
