2 More Arrested In Stabbing Death Of Sebastopol Teen: Sheriff
Two Santa Rosa men were accused of accessory to murder in the death of 19-year-old Cory Alan Vaughn.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two more arrests were made this week in connection with the Sebastopol stabbing death Saturday of 19-year-old Cory Alan Vaughn, a Sonoma County sheriff's sergeant said in an update Thursday. Vaughn was found suffering from fatal stab wounds at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot on Bodega Avenue. Investigators believe that after a disturbance at a nearby house party, Anthony Ibach, 18, also of Sebastopol, and Vaughn were involved in a fight in the parking lot and that Ibach stabbed Vaughn with a knife or some other type of cutting instrument, killing him.
Within hours, investigators tracked down and arrested Ibach in San Rafael but were still looking for his car, a burgundy BMW. On Tuesday, the BMW was located in west Santa Rosa, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
Detectives allege that after the stabbing, Ibach drove to his friend's house in the 1500 block of Ludwig Avenue in Santa Rosa. Ibach's friend, 21-year-old Joshua Cassidy, and a third friend, 20-year-old Shyzaha Thorpe, allegedly drove Ibach to another friend’s home in San Rafael.

The trio allegedly went to Marin County in Thorpe’s car and left Ibach’s BMW parked at Cassidy’s home, Crum said.
Investigators believe that on Sunday when Cassidy and Thorpe learned through media posts that Ibach was wanted for the alleged murder of Vaughn, they drove back to Cassidy's residence and moved Ibach's BMW to Yuba Drive in west Santa Rosa and left it parked there.

"There was no connection on Yuba Drive and it appears to have been just left there," Crum said.
"Based on the new information that Cassidy and Thorpe assisted Ibach in his escape to Marin County, coupled with the moving of the car, both Cassidy and Thorpe were arrested and charged with accessory to murder," Crum said.
Further, Crum says "valuable evidence of the crime" which the sheriff's office can not elaborate on was recovered from Ibach's car and from Cassidy's home.
Jail records show Cassidy and Thorpe were booked into jail just before 3 a.m. Wednesday and remained in custody Thursday without bail.
Ibach remained in custody and was also being held without bail.
The case is still being investigated and detectives are asking anyone with further information to call the Investigations Bureau at 707-565-2185.
