Sonoma Art Walk Opens Downtown Galleries, Studios Tonight

monthly self-guided event opens up galleries, tasting rooms, hotels, and businesses featuring local artists throughout Sonoma Plaza.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — Sonoma's monthly First Thursday Art Walk returns this evening, bringing artists, galleries, wineries, museums, and local businesses together for a self-guided tour centered around the Sonoma Plaza.

The event begins at 5 p.m., when the designated host venue distributes printed maps outlining participating locations. Visitors who arrive later can also pick up maps at other participating stops. Organizers mark participating venues with Sonoma Art Walk flags to make them easier to find while walking through downtown.

Art walks have become a common way for communities to connect artists with the public outside traditional museum settings. Rather than concentrating exhibits in a single location, they encourage visitors to stroll between galleries, studios, businesses, and public spaces, offering opportunities to meet artists, view new work, and experience the downtown district on foot.
