Sonoma County Municipalities To Scale Back Non-Essential Services

Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 Information

Santa Rosa, CA – March 16, 2020 – The County of Sonoma and the cities of Healdsburg and Santa Rosa will scale back non-essential services to reduce the risk of potential community spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The County and municipalities will transition to providing essential services only and many of the County and cities’ facilities will be closed to the public. These temporary and precautionary suspensions of non-essential operations are an effort to protect County and municipal employees and the community by limiting person-to-person contact. These agencies are committed to providing the necessary and essential services for public health and safety.

Emergency law enforcement and fire services, water and wastewater treatment, emergency road repairs and transit services are ongoing. While City of Santa Rosa and Regional Parks remain open, people are reminded to use precautions if visiting parks (high-risk individuals should stay home, and others should avoid congregating).

The move to an essential service only model will be effective Tuesday, March 17 through April 5, 2020. The County and municipalities will continue to evaluate circumstances on an-ongoing basis in consultation with the Sonoma County Public Health Officer, and in coordination
with State Health officials and the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.

Further updates regarding essential services and details regarding any alternative delivery methods for other services affected by the closure will be announced by individual municipalities as additional information is available during the service suspension. People are strongly advised to visit the websites below or
to call agencies or services directly before attempting to visit an office.
