SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a driver who died earlier this month in a solo-vehicle crash on state Highway 12 near Kenwood as Nicolas Olascoaga, 22, of Sonoma.
Olascoaga was driving east on Highway 12 west of Dunbar Road in Glen Ellen around 4 a.m. on July 9 when he lost control of a 1999 Volvo S70 on a curve, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Volvo left the north edge of the highway, went airborne through a barbed wire fence, rolled several times in a grass field and caught fire.
