UPDATE On Tragic July 4th Drowning In Russian River
The victim was 20 years old and was floating on a raft when he went missing. His body was found downstream.

The Sonoma County coroner has identified a man who drowned Saturday afternoon in the Russian River in unincorporated Sonoma County.
Pittsburg resident Jose Fernando Campos-Campos, 20, died near Monte Rio Beach, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded at 12:20 p.m. and learned that Campos-Campos was on a raft when he went missing.
Campos-Campos may not have known how to swim and was not wearing a life jacket, according to the sheriff’s office.

A sheriff’s dive team found Campos-Campos at 4:52 p.m. on the riverbed downstream from the beach, sheriff’s officials said.
