Council To Consider Allowing Restaurants to Serve Alcohol in Outdoor Areas

The City Council will entertain an ordinance that would permit restaurants to serve alcohol in their outdoor patios.

members will be discussing several topics of interest to South Gate at tonight's meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Here are four of the most important happenings on the agenda:

  • The City Council will consider the introduction of an ordinance that would allow liquor to be consumed on the patios of restaurants. 
  • The City Council will appoint residents to the Citizens Advisory Committee. The committee is one of the largest citizen panels in South Gate and advises the city on issues related to government.
  • The City Council will proclaim the week of Feb. 19 as “National Engineers Week.”
  • The City Council will consider an agreement with Parks & Rec Marketing that would give it management over sales of advertising space at city parks. Proceeds would go into the city’s Park Enhancement Fund.
