Dead Body Found in South Gate

UPDATE: The victim was identified as Everardo Cruz, 28, of South Gate, according to a March 13th press release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

SOUTH GATE (CNS) - A man was found shot to death today in the Los Angeles River in South Gate, a sheriff's deputy said.

The man's body was discovered about 10:20 a.m. in the concrete channel near Southern Avenue and Burtis Street, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana.

Sheriff's homicide detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the shooting death to call them at (323) 890-5500.
