The Murder of Everardo Cruz Remains Unsolved

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help.

It has been of Everardo Cruz, 28, were found on the riverbed of the Los Angeles River, near Southern Avenue and Burtis Street, in South Gate. The body was found at approximately 10:20 am by a group of people who were walking by the area on March 3rd.

Cruz sustained several bruises and a gunshot wound to his head, according to the coroners report.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau is continuing their investigation, but are encouraging people to come forward with information.

“[We are] seeking the public’s help,” said Sergeant Mary Hecht, of the Sheriff’s Department via email.
