No firefighters were injured. The flames were extinguished, but the house was deemed uninhabitable in its current condition.
Fire crews remained on scene for about three hours to ensure the fire was out and complete salvage work.
The North County Fire Authority's statement said the fire was under investigation and also urged anyone inside to close doors if a fire breaks out, as closed doors can keep a fire from spreading.
