Best-Selling Author and Cancer Spokeswoman, Anne Lamott, to Speak at thesecondopinion Fundraiser

Best-selling author and cancer spokeswoman, Anne Lamott, will be the keynote speaker at thesecondopinion’s first major fundraising event, Cancer and Small Victories. Thesecondopinion is a nonprofit offering free multidisciplinary second opinions to adults with cancer. The event will celebrate the organization’s 45-year anniversary, serving more than 5,000 cancer patients throughout California since its inception, as well as raise money to broaden its reach to low-income communities.

Ms. Lamott will share her inspiration behind writing her latest book, Small Victories: Spotting Improbable Moments of Grace, and key takeaways for the cancer community. Ms. Lamott wrote her first novel for her father, the writer Kenneth Lamott, when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. She will be signing books at the end of the event.
