Calif. Man's Sickly Sweet Midair Marriage Proposal: Vomit-Inducing Incident Caught On Camera
The journalist threw up immediately after handing his girlfriend a ring, but not because he was nervous. And he caught it all on camera.

A marriage proposal is something every couple will remember. Sometimes, not for the best reasons. (Spoiler alert β this story does have a happy ending.)
Darrell Hamilton, Jr. sought out to give his girlfriend a marriage proposal for the books on Feb. 11, taking her aboard a private flight above Central California. Along with the plane's pilot, the three set out for an amazing trip in Reedley.
"It was a total surprise," Hamilton wrote of the event in a YouTube video he created to capture the moment.

He had everything planned and timed out. The plane. The perfect lush green scenery below. A sign he'd made on the ground. A camera inside the aircraft to capture the moment.
But he didn't account for one major factor.

"I did not anticipate motion sickness," Hamilton says of his now-infamous proposal.
In the video you can see the expression on his face change from one of anticipation to clear discomfort.
"The feeling grew worse," he writes in the video.
As the pilot helps Hamilton look for a sign he'd made for his girlfriend, his pain is palpable.
"Will you marry me?" he asks β but before he has a chance to hear her answer, he bends over to vomit.
His girlfriend, identified by ABC News as Rheanna Lopez, doesn't even have time to answer before he upchucks and hands him a piece of clothing to continue puking into. A short time later, he appears to have recovered enough to hear her "Yes" and slip the ring onto her finger.
"It had nothing to do with being nervous," Hamilton, a video editor for a Fresno television news station, told ABC. "I got sick from being inside the plane. It was a really small plane and the pilot was helping me look for the sign I made her. The tilting kind of messed with my stomach."
Thankfully, it all worked out in the end.
The duo even sealed the deal with a kiss... on the hands.
