De Young Museum : Free Faith Ringgold Celebration

My information on this notice is based on the email sent by De Young. I’m doing a shout-out for my teacher Faith Ringgold, a feisty, energetic teacher and activist. Of all my art teachers , she’s the only one who had an exhibition at the mother of all museums The LOUVRE in Paris; you’d to be a one-of a kind and special artist to be invited to exhibit at Louvre. In my workshop lecture with her years ago, she advised, “Show up, keep creating your art even if they don’t love you, as long you’re there.” What an inspiration and a force!

It’s your chance to experience a major museum for free. Also you can reserve free tickets in advance to secure a spot. Not all exhibition is free like the special exhibition Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs(not open this evening 11/19). Since the pandemic , major museums have been giving free admissions to the public even they’re not members.
