Feel blessed and lucky on St Patrick’s Day inspite of Ukraine war. I don’t need to buy a card or green decorations for every spring , my yard is enveloped with heart shaped clover leaves with yellow flowers. I ate the leaves, they are lemony in taste. I sprinkle the leaves on my salad because they’ve Vitamin C and antioxidants; don’t eat a lot for they contain oxallic acid like spinach. These weeds are known as Oxalis or wood sorrel looks like shamrock.
St Patrick was a Bishop of Ireland legendary for driving the invading snakes to the sea. He envisioned the three leaf clover or shamrock as symbol of the Holy Trinity, three hearts on one stalk, so it’s lucky. For his miracles , he was able to raise 33 dead folks to life again.
No wonder our group composed of friends and relatives who went to Reno/Las Vegas, I was the only one hitting jackpot after jackpot because I’ve lucky clovers growing in my messy yard.
And now feel lucky and blessed to be living in a democracy, not to take it for granted because it’s hard fought and filled with sacrifices.
